Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday dad! I love you so much... I love how our family means anything to you. You are always planning fun holidays or ways that we can spend time together. I think that is a lot of the reason why we are all so close. I remember the time we went to California but you had too much work so you had to stay home. I remember turning around outside the Shamoo stadium and there you were...you pulled an all nighter and came out to surprize us cause you couldn't stand us having fun and you not being there.
I love your ambition. You had a dream of taking us to Europe so we went....and many other dreams you've made reality. I love how you keep yourself informed and are always learning and up for going to business seminars and listening to talk tapes (even though we prefer music on trips). ...but that made me think of another thing...you always let everyone have their way if it will truly make them happy. You are the most unselfish, giving, and humble person that I know. You are so grateful and naturally happy- when I asked you in a joking tone "if you could have any Birthday wish what would it be?" And you sincerely replied that you have everything you could ever need. You an amazing example to me, I really look at you to try to keep myself in check.
I love how you make everything fun. Outsiders to the family may think of you as more reserved...but to those who know you best- You are quite the comedian. We can always look to you to do something crazy and even though you are "the parent" you don't mind our teasing and have fun with us when Kenzie commands you to dance or when we make jokes about your varicose vein taking over your body. You are very active for a now (shhhh! 54). You are up for anything fun with us outdoors or in as you still win most card or board games that you play. You also play raquetball, run your own business and side business of real estate, help out where ever at church, and are always doing quiet good deeds for family or anyone. You never ask for praise or recognition for all that you do so I want to thank you for all the unthanked things that you do and for always always always supporting me in everything. You are the best dad, I want to cry and smile just thinking about how sweet you are.
I remember talking with a couple close friends who are also fans of yours (Malia and Rachel) and them agreeing that the world would be a much better place with more dads like you. All of us kids in our family are obsessed with you and I love how we joke about Dane wanting to be you. After all he insisted they name their kid after you. We all love you very much Dad.
So enjoy this celebration of your birth today Dad and know that you are very loved!
