It's amazing what Mother Nature can do for the soul

I've spent time in Provo Canyon pretty much every summer of my life and every time I am there it brings me back to rolling up my trousers and wading through streams, chilling watermellon the natural way, exploring the wood, hiking waterfalls, and sucking up energy in the sun and shade. We have been here a week and have already gone numerous times. Above I am with our catterpillar, Chaput.
Today after church Kenz, April, James and I went and played cards (if you can read the scoreboard I almost won).

ahh! I love it here!
This last picture is symbolic and is dedicated to my mother. One summer long ago we were up here and all of us kids were being really onery with each other after too much time sitting in a car together. So before our trip could continue, my mom took all of us down to the canyon and had us pick up a rock by the river. She then had us make a pledge, goal, promise to be kind for the rest of the trip. The tradition has continued through the years and whenever I come to a point in life where it's time to gather myself, take a deep breath, work on "Casey", ...to start over, my Mom says the famous family saying, "rock in the river". She said it before I left on this holiday, but I was already planning on making new goals through this cleansing tradition. It really helps!

I miss my little Case!! When are you coming home? By the way I'll be up there for the 4th of July so I want to come see ya! I'll give you a call if I can get away from my family reunion.
