I fell in love with fresh beets in England when we used to volunteer to work in people's gardens and they sometimes gave us some surplus to take home. So with the cute little harvest markets that are here through the autumn months, I have taken advantage of fresh beets. yum

And I decided to have a little herb garden. But it's getting too cold and my rosemary and basil died. I was so sad...
But I managed to eat some lovely caprese and rosemary rice before they went to a better place. I love good, fresh food.
